Haha this should be good. I would use a 21p prop. Just to get good acceleration aswell as a mid 50's mph. (in theory) But I live next to the North sea not a Loch. Hope there's some vids taken like.

Reckon bouncing is going to be a real issue - pretty sure one of the local guys raced the same fonda 14 with a 90hp yam on and it spent more time in the air than in the sea.

"Andy21" was Nav I think!

hi thanks for the replies chaps, i dont now the weight of the merc 115 i think around 120kg mark should be ok on the weight side, i guess i will find out soon lol, it shouldnt be bad as i dont go to the sea i use a lake and i go to a nice quite 2 mile stretch its like glass and i can play around with setup till i get it spot on, if anyone has got a 21p or 20p prop there selling that will fit my outboard giv me a shout i will buy it straight away as im finding it hard to find one at min, when the boats done i will get some pics of it and if i can i will put a quick vid of it in action, thanks again for the replies chaps, i would love to see a pic of a 14ft fonda as iv never seen one before,

I took that picture!

Heres another cracking one. Probably the calmest sea conditions I've ever been out in but the Fonda still found something to jump off!

The engine was a 2 stroke Mercury 90hp, I think the prop was a SS Laser 21 and would run bang on 50mph GPS.

I navigated for 2 races a couple of summers ago, and I have to say it was alot of fun! For all the bouncing up and down it only stuffed once (before we'd even come out of muster!) but didn't chine ride too badly.

As you will see, it really didn't stay in the water much... people will probably comment that it's trimmed out too much, but although extremely flighty, it ran best/fastest like that!

il help you out if you wish to start circuit racing. There are loads of places to race circuit which arnt to far from you. Gt30 racing is ideal starter class. Boats are single seater monos racing at speeds of 50 mph with only a 30 hp on the back.
