The deck will be brought up to date with some nice curves, but still in keeping with the original silhouette. Will leave the screen profile alone as this is whats always drawn me to the Marshan.
The interior will be very similar to our Voodoo boat, in fact the dash will pretty much fit straight in, bucket seats front and maybe rear also.

Ok, ok. Point taken. I will make sure I don't post on here after vino!

I must say, seeing you guys with voodoo at Southampton, that was a really great looking boat. If the results with this are the same it will be lovely.

Had the first chance to really assess the moulds yesterday, first job to make a rigid frame for the hull mould so we can block sand the hull topsides.
2nd job reface the surface, prep the lot then take a heavy lay up hull out to give us our plug to make the new mould.
The deck will also be done to get a new plug for mods and then a new mould also.
So hopefully a new revamped marshan by end of jan early feb

Progress on the marshan 21 has been a bit slow. with efforts being directed at an existing marshan 21 we own, having a complete tear down and rebuild and apart from a modern hot rod inspired paint-job.A 89 boat with a 88 xr2 is going to look well old skool. The original hull mould has had a good fairing session and now has the first hull being moulded in it for 20yrs, will assess condition of moulding and either use as the 1st hull or for a plug for the new mould, the new deck will not be to different from original and i have got the design settled in my head now.
On top of that we are busy revamping and restyling an old 8.1m scorpion raceboat (ex puddifoot). Hint why should rib consoles be flat.
Voodoo rib had a favourable review in Powerboat and Rib Magazines 1st rebranded issue and any issues raised have been sorted, ie grab handles, although i think paul missed a lot of the point of the boat, and maybe tested it as more of a rib than what i really invisage it as.
Will start a marsan rebirth build thread asap

Superb! Word on the street is that interest is back in the british speedboat! Would be so great to go down the slipway in the summer and see more and more small hardbats being launched. less ribbers too!

Russ, hope you got it sorted. It is a shame that it is so easy in this industry to do the dirty. I have an old Marshan 21, but rather than splash it, Pete and I acquired the original moulds to the Marshan 21, which needed work, but we bought them honestly from the original owners with the rights to build them going forward. John at Arranmore did the same with the shakespear moulds and he has built a very nice boat.

Both our Voodoo boat and the new Marshan have been and will be built with quality in mind. That is not just cosmetic, but built properly in areas that you dont see from the outside. We also chose to have the boat independently category tested and allowed our first pre production boat to be given to the magazines in the solent in November in a force 6, not wait for a nice calm day in Poole harbour. I'd like to see certain other established manufacturers do the same!

More honesty and openess required in this industry please.
