Mercury catches?

Hi people after a fab weekend in essex and have'n a little problem with my engine cowl I keep nearly lossing it the crap rubber catches just don't do the trick mines a fibreglass copy of the alien cowl anyone no where I can get some descent catches???

What about one of those rally car web sites? We use to have some on an old mini and they came from a company called Ripspeed I think.

Sorry I couldn't remember. We had decent bonnet catches off a mail order rally place. Thought it was called Ripspeed.

Just put a top pin on it and the two side plates/bars on the lower tray. They'll stop it jumping out sideways. Without the top pin it just moves the stress to the lower plate and fractures the lower metal sandwich plate behind the exhaust ports. Even the XS plates do that coz they can't run a top pin. And yours is a copy which is real heavy and make it worse.
