Mississippi River powerboat record in the 80s

Looking at the Cow boy boat on the other thread reminded of a series i watched in the 80s when a white scarab or cigarette with 3 powerful outboards that powered its way up the length of the river. I thought the engine could of been 2 stoke V8s too.

It was on normal TV maybe ITV.

I just tried to look it up on Utube but couldnt find it.

?

It was called Assault-on-the-Mississippi

All i found of it was this on here http://flemingmarketing.com/portfolio2.htm

Michael Reagan raised millions for the U.S. Olympic Committee in his “Assault on the Mississippi” powerboat trip from New Orleans to St. Louis.

I knew i wasnt going doolally

It was a great documentary and i'd love to find it again.

Just found this aswell http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2571...91848696qaVWOz
July 1 1982 Michael Reagan (the President's son) set a 1041 mile run in 25 hours 11 min in the multiple engine Scarab. The total money raised that went to the U.S. Olympic Team exceeded half a million dollars.
