my dads phantom
Hello. My dads got a phantom thats been in the garden for years. he's been saying "next summer i'll get a new engine" This has been going on for 10 years.
Mums had enough and has put me in charge of selling it. Only problem is, I dont have a clue what its worth. Was wondering if one of you boat enthusiasts could help me out. What should I be asking for it?
Its a Phantom 21. Two seater. The engines knackered and the trailer moves but will need some work or be replaced. The hulls all good though. Its a nice boat under all the moss and grim.
Many thanks
John

You can't do that to your Dad dude
Can't believe your taken your mums side,
You obviously have never had your own boat or you wouldn't even consider doing what your trying to do, not only that but my old man would've whooped my arse, think you might want to have a word with your dad about what it's frikin worth you tit

John - As you've probably guessed by now it's a bit rare (to say the least) - some more information would be helpful - where is it? Does it have any history? Who did your dad get it from? As a rare race deck Phantom it would have been built to race so any identifying marks or stickers would be great and if you have any photos of it when you had it running would help the geeks on here identify the hull.

Clean up.
Thanks for the honesty. I've had a clean out. It's in good condition to be fair. Transom has a small crack. Nothing massive. Trying to find a stamp or id. Can't find anything. Were is it normally?
It was brought at john bridger marine Exeter about 17year ago.

its like anything, untill you look at it in the flesh it is hard to tell, the crack is at the top above where the load is, sometimes on most boats where the deck meets the hull the fibreglass there is only thin, but until investigated its hard to tell, fingers crossed aye

Why? 20 + year old 2 seater ex-raceboat isn't really gonna appeal to the masses. They might be pretty but you can pick up batboats for similar money. I'd guess only a kevlar one like total fury would stand a chance.
And 6.5k for this old bucket??? Someone is having a laugh! 650 quid would be more like it especially since it looks like it needs a new transom just for starters.

£6'500 is a joke, I am saying that, but I'm not talking about this one, I'm talking about the 3 seater on eBay. I didnt know you could get a bat boat with 225 yam and on a trailer for £3600?

That hull with trailer was for sale for less than 2k a few years ago before someone had 'modified' it with a 3rd seat.
What I am saying is that the appeal is very limited. Even a mint kevlar one sold for a few years back at sensible money.
They look great but just aren't practical being 2 seat. If that's your thing then u can get into a backdraft for similar money.
Just my opinion of course
