My first "real" hard boat
Right - now don't tell that lot over at rib.net, but in the very near future - im looking at buying my first "real" hard boat.
I have had 16ft boats (fletchers and what not)... and at the moment I have 7.5 meter tornado, with 2x115hp 4 strokes...
I want something faster for messing around with this summer...
What type of boat do people suggest I start with... preferably up to about £10k for the first one... see how I get on.. then maybe something bigger/better later
Thanks
Ben

it aint just the fuel cost you got to worry about when you get a p20 /21 with an xr2 or any 2.5 i.e the wife has got to go you wont be able to keep them both happy!

You should be able to find a decent Phantom 21 in this price range.
That should fit the bill perfectly. You may find it makes your face ache from grinning though!

It just so happens that last years championship winning XR2 is for sale, so if you get a boat less engine give me a call!

XR2 Manual states 20 Gallons per hour FLAT OUT. Would go for the 2.4 EFI its faster!
Taz and I both had Phantom 20's mine had an XR2 and was great but after going in Taz's EFI I have never been in a boat with so much power to weight ratio - Frightening!

Right, I'll be ready to buy within the next couple of weeks - but looking around on boatmad and boatsandoutboards... can't really see anything that takes my fancy... other than:
http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F74838/
but thats already been sold
Any other suggestions? or places to look?
Thanks
Ben

Advartage of slightly older is a lot more 2nd user spares.
Just struck me as a simple cheap rig, motor gets you through the season then give it the old once over during the winter months. But we are all different, thinking now maybe thats what I should have done ??? mhhhhhhh
