Anyone know anymore on the pic
Really wanted to know what happened between 1990 and 2004 with my Cat.
Seems it crashed at least twice in 2 seasons as the previous 2 crash pictures show different paintwork!!!

Adrian Bagnal owned it for quite a few years, probably from late 90's till last year.
He had a very bad RTA, so it sat in a barn for yonks. His injuries from the RTA are his reason for selling last year to the guy in portsmouth. (via this site)
The advert was removed after it sold, so you won't find it now.
Adrian bought the boat from Rory Power, who'd in turn had owned it for quite a while. It was in his ownership when it was used for the Propane gas speed record by Vulture Ventures / Charles Burnett III.
I can give you contact details for both Rory & Adrian if you want.

Cat set-up
Can anyone suggest why my engine cannot be mounted centrally?
At the moment it sits 2" to starboard which will obviously help left hand cornering but as it's a cat surely it wont help with torque steer?
Currently it has excellent control @80MPH! The port sponson only dips when the prop/lifter/trim set up is wrong.
The reason i ask is i need to lower the engine behind the transom to run a short shaft (XS) but to allow the steering to clear inside the woodwork i will need to centralise the engine or convert to side ram!
Any thoughts or previous experience appreciated

I think your cat has an offset cockpit.

Interesting.. as I know from experience those cats work very well in a straight line, but not so well into corners.
I am interested in JF 's comment, perhaps Lorne "offset, the cockpit, transom etc." in the later designs?
However please be very careful, those cats can give you a "false sense of security" - when you make a wrong move in mono, you know, in a cat Sayonara!
FYI (Look at Curtis last weekend)

The Previous built boat to mine had an offset cockpit and swivelelling nav seat but mine is defo central see http://www.boatmad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10487
Maybe i will leave it as it is for now until i have to run an XS, The problem is XS's are only available in short shaft with offshore leg's, The 20" version is a standard leg!

offset cockpit
Hi stuart I asked the same question when i first got the boat about the engine being offset i thought someone must have had aprob with the measure when they put the motor on.I cant quite remember the answer but the cockpit wasnt offset and i was told definately dont put it in the middle it would make it a nightmare to drive.Rory power was allways my encyclopedia of if what and why try giving him a shout.Congrats on the 80 mph keep posting its good to here the updates.

For anyone interested in this cat, I have had the pleasure and the good fortune to work alongside Lorne Campbell to reproduce carryfast as an rc model.
It was a personal project and is taken directly from the original drawings with only minor tweaks to make it suitable for RC.
