Joe's work I believe. And if I recal correctly, like the first Puma / NZ1, Joe openly said it's roots were in another, previous vessel.
I actually thought the last Puma looked more like NZ1 than the first.

Ooooh, are you saying the P16 is an evolution of, and thus superior to, a Shead 21?

Another BTW, would you like me to send Chaos round to your house to fix your space bar? ....now if you thought 'I' talk too much!.......... You'll be begging for mercy after 10 or 15 hours with old fester.

From what I can make out he is a legend in his own right, and I feel that only Matt and yourself could enhance his reputation,so I`ll pass on that if you don`t mind,I`m half asleep as it is.

Got this email from Steve this morning, after I sent that pic to him.
" Jon,
Thanks for the pic of ‘Hurricane’. Strange how one forgets things - guess this is dad’s Avenger 21. I believe that’s him driving. ( His crash-hat which often appeared to reside high up on his head. )
Dad was in the RAF in the war and in the early stages based at Detling ( just up the road on the A249 towards Maidstone ). He was ground crew and worked on the Hurricanes which formed the backbone of the force pending delivery of the Spit.
The ‘K’ number on the quarter is for ‘Kent Boat and Ski Club’.
If you look at the transom you can just see that the motor is mounted on a ‘sub-transom’.
This was an early idea of mine to try to extend the life of the Merc rubber mounts by absorbing some of the impact loads. ( Merc mounts may have been replaced by solids at this stage - I can’t remember.) Anyway, the sub- trans was itself fitted to the trans proper with four pairs of rubber bushes from the rear spring hangers of the Ford Zephyr 4.
I’ll never know whether ‘twas effective or not, but it did involve problems achieving ideal motor height.
Ricky and I competed in IIID with this hull.
Regards
Steve"
