New 250
Hi guys, I'm new. I'm looking to purchase a new 250hp to put on a 7.5m Rib. I'm inclined towards a Suzuki DF 250 or possibly an XS 250. Not an Etec or F250. Any opinions on DF vs XS other than the obvious and how much should I expect to pay. Thanks Trapper.

The suzuki is a four stroke and the 250xs (mercury I assume) is a two srtoke so first you need to decide which you want.

Go with 2 stroke
Better power, less weight
Not sure about opti though
Heard that they are really pain in the a$$, they broke all the time
But what do I know.....

Soppy colours and not good for wakeboarding. A touch of throttle and they take off by all accounts. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a DF250 now for distance work. So where's the best deal? Mr. Mole?

Thanks for all the help guys and the enthusiasm with which new members are welcomed. If I meet any middle-aged boring bastards with their fat arses wedged in speedboats I'll direct them to 'Boatsad'.
