landlubber has just bought his first ever boat.

I'd love some advice/comments (stupid or otherwise) on my 1998 Bayliner 1802 (except sell it as I've already been told that !) and are the ordinary 'L' plates waterproof?

Welcome to boating!

What do you intend to do with your boat, ie, cruising reasonable distances, just a bit of skiing & playing about, tearing about like a mad thing etc.

And what engine does it have?

Thanks for the welcome.

To start with, messing about, learning to ski etc within a coastal bay. Then I'd be keen to find out what the boat would be capable of in terms of longer cruising.

It has a 110 HP mercury outboard. Would an auxilliary engine be advisable/ necessary?

Also in regard to ship to shore radio, is a hand held vhf set OK.

Thanks for taking the time to check out this link.

Landlubber.
