And the only man in the universe with thicker glasses than you!!!
Any idea what happened? heart attack? Must have put a bit of a dampner on the wedding!
Dear Nigel, he didn't mind a scrap! Got in an argy-bargy with Nick Gilley once at a powerboat ball! (mid 90's) and Nick doesn't get in an argy with anyone! Also saw him 'helped' into the drink at Cowes one year by a burly Australian barman after a slight altercation.
I remember him clouting the (permanent, heavy steel) turn bouy in Guernsey in the cat and making a nice hole in it/sinking it. Must have been 90/91 ish.
A character indeed, very sad.

Dear Nigel
A very sad loss. I think a lot of people here knew dear Nigel.
I would sincerely agree with John he was a character who would cause the odd controversy but on the other hand would help and be there for everyone. It is s great loss for old binocular eyes he was a great charictor and will be sorely missed.
God rest old buddy. We will miss you.

Nigel
He was certainly a larger than life character and was having a great time with us in Antigua both before and after our wedding. He has been a good friend for over 20 years, although he would freely admit a pain in the arse sometimes! He was found in his hotel room last Wednesday after suffering a heart attack.
I will miss him, and so will the publicans in Lymington!!

The Loveable Nigel
I would like to send my condolences to Nigels Family. He was a great supporter of Powerboating and loved helping out with Safety if there was ever an Event in the Lymington area Nigel would be there. Will be missed and I hope he is not giving Annie to much stick.

Nigel Cutler
I sponsored Nigel for 4 years and navigated for him from 1989 to 1993 he started my passion for powerboating and we had so much fun, some people may remember the 2L Worlds in Swansea! The accident in the Guernsey Powerboat week in 1991. Yes he was a pain but would do anything for his friends and always had a drink with them. He loved boats, may he keep riding the white horses.

Nigel could be a pain, but he was a true gentleman of the sport. He'd argue black was white in the pits, but once at the bar it could become grey...... Great human being and will be sorely missed by a lot of people....
Anyone with news of the funeral please pass on... Many thanks

Nigel's funeral will be on 28th December at 2pm in Hordle Church, then onto the Hare and Hounds. No flowers but donations to the RNLI.

Attended the service for Nigel today. Full church, & tales of Nigel's various adventures were told.
The only powerboating people seen were Simon & Suzy W-P, & Tony Hamilton.
We all had a brief chat after the service, but none of us had seen anyone else from the sport there.
A good send off for a great character - another to add to the list in "A Dying Sport"

Loads of 2ltr boys from the late 80 s/90s attended Nigel's funeral - Dennis Clements and his navigator, mark Mumford, Paul denford, mark (Nigel's navigator) stuart tizzard, Peter lister, Ian Saunders and possibly many more. It was a lovely service with a packed church........ So sad to lose such a great character :-(

Sorry Rob - we obviously missed you - time takes its toll on recognition abilities !
Yes, it was a very good service, & so good that the church was packed solid.
I opted out of the wake, so missed the chance to see others there.
RIP Nigel.
