i can find numbers on the block but no tag on the leg i know the leg is older then the powerhead and that the power heads come from smiling jacks so i know they aint dodgy

nope, never changed it. checked it once and it was fine. if you have water pissing out your tell tales when running above 1800rpm chances are yours will be fine too. maybe your water pressure gauge is faulty
