Its not a B23 Its a B22 for starters. Bit of a handful by all accounts with a 2litre. "old Beardy" has a good story about these and xr2's!

Spat me out on Windermere. They are just not built to take that sort of power.
I think this one is possibly Paul Nicholls boat. He never raced it, bought it when he finished his OCR days, Nick used to do his engine, hence the assumption.
As to its worth, £3k - £4k depending on condition.

1.3 liter eligable?

Wouldnt this be a great opprortunity for someone to sell the XR2 and replace it with a 1.3 litre?

I hear the rumour of at least 2 1.3 bat boats this year in offshore,

Fact is a 1.3 on a batboat is quicker than an OCR boat with a 1.8Ltr!

Cheap racing

Thanks Beardy! is that price inc the engine?

Yes cheap racing Stu (waiting for a call back on XS bud, ok)

Well the guys who are into my Cat have this boat, and they are wanting to sell it now as they would rather have this engine (see pic) in the Cat than the Batboat now... i agree!

So was just getting a feel for prices for them and interest, cheers.

Looking at the pics again makes me think that this is my old boat. Has it got a metal fabrication at the bottom of the transom where it meets the keel?
I sold it to a guy in Colchester who was going to put a jet engine into it. I spoke to him afterwards and he said it would not fit and so he was getting an XR2 to give it a try. I noticed it was back up for sale not long after.

Any info on your old Batboat would be great, also what you sold it to him for and year, make B22/23?...etc...thanks.

If it is my old tub then it was definately a B22. I bought it off Bob Lewthwaite in 2002 and ran it in 3B in 2003. Bob had bought it off Charles Gardner and previous to that it was owned by Ian Cutler and I think Ocke`s son.
It was a good boat in 3B but lethal with an XR2 on board hence the reason we sold it. Cant remember how much I sold it for back in 2004 but it was not a lot. It was never a match for the lightweight B23 in 3B.
Hope this helps.

If thats Ians old boat, he bought it from Max Walker, who I believe got it from sweden. It had raced over there is some local 3 litre class with an OMC.

Another owner to add to the list between Ian and you (mr beardy) is Rory Power.

Ian did really well in 3B with it, but like you, he also suffered trying to get the hang of it in 3C when he upped the class.

Yes Vicky's is a valid record and there is still a faster 1.8 record from mid 80's but cant remember who it was !!

Last race I saw a class 111 2 ltr cat was a long way behind a 1.8 OCR boat !!

Class 111b is now upto 115hp. so that may get the B22 going !!
