Talking offshore film

Has anybody got a copy of "The Greatest Offshore Race in the world"?

This film was released in 1973 about the 1972 Cowes to Torquay race and was sponsored by Embassy and the Daily Express. It was produced by Barrie Hinchliffe and should have some great footage. Please could someone upload it onto the site or I would be happy to transfer from 16mm if thats easier.
Cheers

1972 Ctc Film

The film is one of many Jon has in his keeping ready to put on the site in the fullness of time as they say. It`s not mint but watchable.A lot of these films were borrowed to be shown at film clubs and therefore scratched in places. In the case of the 61 -74 CT races some never used to be returned.Even Tim Powell went looking for them at one stage to do a compilation tape of all the races, but came unstuck.Rumour has it there were some stored in a lock up under Blackfriars Bridge!I used to drive to Fleet Street, park outside the Daily Express offices ,nip in and pick a few up,rush to Middlesex and get them put on to VHS ,and drive back to Fleet Street to return them and then return home to the South Coast.About a year later they had dissappeared.

Inaccessible to mere mortals to take part..........

The sax tracks ... So cool..... and great to hear Carlos Santana , Just so right for the period ( even now for me ) !

Which were the CTC that had the Floyd 'Echoes ' backing with the freeze frame editing , ? I reckon they were some of the best (BP ?) films ever.

Thanks for that.

The best one is/was the 1971 race, it blew 6/7 with gust to 8!!!!!!!!!!
Was a great day and 3 months to get over it...........
Unfortunately it was "stolen" out of DL's car..................
Amazing backing track by Santana.

Floyd Echoes

This is the intro for the ITV 1973 doc with commentary by Fred Dineage,in the days when he had hair.In actual fact Jon has a 1964 CT doc where Dineage is doing an interview from Torquay, which shows how long he`s been around. All these films are about to hit the site shortly.I`m fairly sure they rated the CTC 71 as hitting force 9.The home movie of it ,is the only time I`ve seen a OP 1 going the same the same speed as a wave before overtaking it and heading into the trough.(American Moppie off Anvil)
