Yeh, but some have paid more than others!!!!!

I may not be Mr P's greatest admirer, but that is what the rescue services are in place for, and I'd rather see hundreds of thousands of pounds spent rescuing a british taxpayer ( and a canadian coz he's not a yank) than to see it wasted on some waste of space asylum seeker or a member of the royal family having another day out courtesy of us and the RAF.

This is bound to cause a load of aggro, as everyone knows I'm far from Priddy's greatest fan, but it's a funny old world! they gained a lot of respect from peeps last night coz they failed!

part of the challenge was building an indestructable boat, which he obviously didn't, and i really can't see why putting your self in harms way, then getting burned, then getting rescued, generates respect! (other than his/their guts, which was proven on departure, not by the misshap)

I guess we all look at things from a different angle.

Not really. For an ordinary person like myself it's the courage shown by some people in a near-death experience which many powerboat racers also have (remembering the burned boat at Brighton/ the many examples of dangerous stuffs) which generates respect.

PS. the burned out Italian boat at Brighton was extremely sad, and I felt gutted for them, but it was probably their fault, or certainly would have been if it were our (Team Extreme's) raceboat, as WE prepared it, and had it happened to us, I certainly wouldn't have expected any respect, I would have expected to be called a tosser (again) (and again)
