Outboard crank repair
Hello
Have a 90hp 1999 mercury 3 cyl outboard which has been drowned. Have stripped the entire engine, block is fine, pistons are fine, rings are fine.......but the needle bearings and the faces of the crank and connecting con rods at the big end have some pitting due to corrosion. So is it a new crank, rods and bearings or does anyone know someone that can grind out the pitting in the crank and con rods, weld up the marks and re face?
What do you all reckon would be best?
Regards

I might, I'll check when I get back in on Monday. Think I have a crank anyway, not sure what year, and probably have rods and pistons too.

I think you should contact to a professional mechanic who can fix this problem very easily and quickly otherwise you can take some advices from an experienced one. I have also faced such problem regarding outboard crank and at that time I took help from a professional.

But you do a great job of cleaning windows. I would have preferred you to use a squeegee rather than your tongue! 😱
