Paul here in Guernsey had a load of work done on "Slayer" with strengthening his HO saddle - would be the one to ask

That's how we did mine. Also fitted bronze bushes throughout, and solid mounts from Sam Jenkins in the US.

Keith Whittle at Powertech in Hayling Island does the P1 stuff, and can supply the parts and have the work done on yours. He also makes 'solid' rubber mounts, which are a great compromise between the standard crap and the solid aluminium ones which I fitted. I think he also strengthens the steerer tube too. He's also developing a fully fabricated stainless steel mounting bracket, instead of welding up the aluminium ones. Best bet would be to give him a call

Steve Causley at Race & Marine in Taunton was developing the ETEC strengthening a long time before anyone else - was 2005/06 he made Richard Strawford's originally delicate 200HO bullet proof. Not seen anything really different / better since. Can't recommend his work / knowledge on this highly enough

It still broke though - I know I was racing against him and won the Championship that year! (2005)

This statement is incorrect, we had the first 200 "ETEC" HO in the country I fabricated all the modifications myself.
The saddles never broke - the centre steering casting shattered once so we redid that also, along with the steering tube - never broke again.
Cookie beat us cause the boat broke.

Sorry about that Richard - I thought Steve did your mods. Did he do any work on your engine?

Steve did my 200HO in 2006 and the Brown's too but was sure he'd done one before that?

Steve did a cracking job anyway & not heard of any of his ETEC mods breaking.

That Rib you had was seriously quick - whatever happened to it?

Hope you're doing ok Richard. Best regards, John

I all fairness you had that rig flying and it was the non finishes that gave us the championship, it must have been the steering casting I was thinking of, all I knew was that something broke!

How are you doing? Call in if you're our way!
