Passing of an Italian Legend

I have just heard from Marco ( Black Tornado ) that 1987 European Champion bruno Abbate passed away recently from an incurrable cancer.
I not only worked at Bruno's lakeside home on boats but also in the Primatist (his own boat and design company) at Grandola.
A great family man, brother to Giorgio and Tullio a kind generous man who gave no quarter on the water and a fierce competitor for many years in Offshore Class 1 in the 80's and a long term sponsor was Gancia de Gancia (87) and previously with Pinot de Pinot..
A bull of a man who will be sadly missed by family, friends and Italian Boating ingeneral where he sponsored the famous long distance events for the Priamtist Cup along the Italian Coast and around Sardinia.
Sleep well my friend.

The dreaded big 'C' - he was still pretty young too relatively speaking. I was never a huge fan of his designs - but I did have a soft spot for this beauty.

Paying passengers.
You know,one drive,one throttle,one look the buoys,one greets helicopters,one take a drink......
In offshore it is valid the proverb two they are few but three they are too many.
