It was in another post.

He dropped a tin of spray paint into his boat, and it shorted out the battery, which sparked, broke threough the tin container, and ignited the contents..

Gee what warm comforting first post. Nothing wrong with the content just the way ya put it.
So does that mean the rumor of an Incendiary device manufactured for the italians is true then

I'm very glad Pete's doing ok. But why the tone of your post?
And why not correct Marc, and inform us what actually happened!..Is it a secret?

While the web forums are very good for some things and can be really useful - it does bring out the worse in so many small people.

Just so much negativity around - and to be honest powerboating does not need anymore than it already has!

Adam,

Even when I post something innocuous I get flack from some idiot. And I am including CB1 in that list from now on.

Perhaps it is better that I just leave BoatMad entirely ( and National Boat Racing ) and let these wankers win. Then they can continue to go on about how good they are and how anyone faster than them ( or anyone who wins a race or breaks a record ) is a cheat.

This post by Guest is so similar to the Bladerun around Britan post last year where the child denied point blank that anything mechanically had gone wrong with the boat, insulted me for three pages about my ignorance, and on the final page admits they hit nothing and it was mechanical failure.

So the truth about Pete? I dont care. I am not bothered to know. Is he OK? Great. I think he is a nice guy and I would not want him injured.

im sure marc didnt mean to be negative in any way, i know from my own experience that when you write a post it can often sound completely different to what you thought it was going to to certain people and im sure marc didnt mean any harm or offence in any way, and im sure many of you agree it would be a great shame to lose marc not only to the sport but also to this site.

i hope i myself havent offended any one by saying this because no offence to anyone was intended.

I'm seriously considering doing away with the racing sections of Boatmad.com, because it seems impossible to have a thread without someone (from the racing fraternity) ******* it up!

It's pathetic, and I'm sick & tired of it.

Marc, come out Poker running, and forget racing!

I agree with all that JF said about CB1, reading the posts I still think it's OTT to be so rude and aggressive to a fellow racer, I understand problems can arise, even the formula 1 guys throw mild insults at each other, but it is contained, due no doubt to the vast damage it would cause to sponsorship if it escalated, and I think, should any would be racers read these posts they would take themselves and there cash to another motor sport, even if I chose all the ill feeling would mean I would think very hard before spending hard earned cash to go racing ever again

I can moderate it, but am sick & tired of the constant 'need' to do so.

I really can't see the point.

JF personally I enjoy reading the inside talk on the race scene, and would consider it a great pity if you removed it, I believe that also in doing so in some way shows the nasty overtone poster's will have won, also perhaps it is best for it to be tackled over a forum rather than a very public argument in front of all the onlookers doing perhaps even more damage

shame cus its gonna spoil it, i'm now wondering if its entirely worth going into the nationals next year! Boatmad is whats spurred me into doing any racing at all, and i guess i'm not the only one! If the sport is to prosper it would be advantageous not to **** it up by constantly arguing and slandering on the very forum that promotes it!

& if it means banning the troublesome feckers.......DO IT!

All IMHO of course...........
