Neither! you're only going to be a sponsor, that means you give us the family silver (and/or Gold), and we give you absolutely feck all in return, except your name (very small print) on the boat.

JF, somewhere you mentioned diesel for Warlord........what would you use?? would twin yanmars be an option?? and by what matgin would it reduce the cost? Would Lancing surfice drives be a cheaper (breakage wise0 be easier and less costly on both RBR and C/T/C plus possible L/MC????

A single Yanmar 440 with 1/4 turn on the max fuel screw aughta do it.
They're 5.7 litre, so well within the 6.5 litre limit for RB4. regular V bottom Phantom really needs the ability to trim the drive in the conventional sense so as to carry the bow in calm conditions, so a low (or high, depending on which way you view it) ratio Mk III drive, and Daytona G-Box would be perfic and it just so happens the boat already has a MkIII Speedmaster Drive & Daytona box with it! (though of course they'd need re-ratio-ing, and a freshen up)

OK good point about the trim but wouldn't she handle better with twins and be less suseptable to chining?? also if u loose one moter the chances are you can still run on the other and still colect points etc???????

How about twin Steyr 256s?
No, really, stop doing this and tutting! They're 250hp apiece, and at 3.2 litres would come in under the 6.5 litres allowed for RB4.
Lombardini have a 2.4 litre diesel that claims 200hp, but I don't think that any of the mainstream marine diesel manufacturers have anything much above 150hp from under 3.25 litres . . .

Because all the structures & existing drive are single engine.
Engine bay structures for single/twins are very different.

I don't think it'll be chine walking at 62mph, but yeah, obviously twins are nice.
If it ends up in RB3, it'll be a staggered setup for sure.

Not a bad idea! they're real light motors innit. bloody shame they're not just a little more powerful, closer to 300 and they'd be a real posibility.

It was in Crondal, near Farnham in Hampshire. Just a couple of miles from where Matt lives and a few hundred yards from where 2-XS-IF lives, small world eh. In fact, it turns out, that Nick Gilley (2-XS-IF) has known the guy for years, as they both owned Fairy Huntress's a gazillion years ago.
Coincidentaly, it was owned by a guy who has a Bentley/Roller garage called 'Phantom Motors'. They race Bentleys, as do the original owners of 'Warlord' (the Baldwin twins) hence the connection between them, and the purchase 15 years ago by Simon.
It's not bad really, the hull is good, as are the structures, but the deck is most horrid, and hasn't weathered as well.
Luckily, my interest only really lays with the hull.
I intend to source a 454 chevy block & heads (scrap), and pretty it up, then fit all the fancy Kiekheafer Aeromarine stuff, inlet/trumpets, Stellings etc, and dress it nicely, mount it on a stand, and give it to Basildon. Don't think they've got anything like that there.
