Phantom 25 1985w/400R vs 450R

Hi,

I hope you are well.

I have owned a Phantom 25 now for 22 years. Its a 1985 model, originally fitted with a Johnson GT 3.6 litre V8 300 hp. I have done several engine packages, including Promax 300 SVS. 2 x 2.5 EFI SS and Verado 350 Sci. Since 2017 I have run a Verado 400R. Best speed has been 89 mph spinning 7,060 rpm with a Max5 25 pitch prop 2 inches above the bottom. In all 5 inches of setback. I think with a Hill 5 blade cleaver I will get the 90 mph.

The boat is running very flat but high. The entire boat is out of the water. Its no chine walk at all. See video link while running 88 mph at less good conditions. https://www.facebook.com/646865205/v...5667590180206/

Have anyone experience with Phantom 25 running a single engine above 90 mph? I consider to buy a V8 4.6 litre Merc 450R. Estimated speed will be 93-96 mph with the correct prop.

Thanks !

Cheeers, Toffen
