IMHO
300's to heavy
280's to expensive
XR2 purrrfect cheap as chips (long as it's not a Harry Ramsdens at any BAA Airport) Loads about circa 2K.
Straight on the transom no lifters, Set up for balance rather than top end... mid 70's

Sounds like she would make a good "Poker Run" / Pleasure Boat then.

Restored and ready to go, what'd she be worth on the market in the UK?
(Thats not the reason i would buy her, just wanna do the maths).

Ok, I now think i know who the owner is, however, the boat is stripped and has been waiting 3 months for a new paint job!

I will try and contact the owner directly to see if he is willing to part with it.

OK, i have just spoken to the owner who has asked me to have a good look over the boat and make an offer for it.

I am going to take my good camera down and take some better pics of her.

Question is, how much for hull and naff trailer?

Thats more than i would offer.

£4k in the UK would be about right, but here in the Desert where there is no Tax or VAT to Pay and the fact that its gonna cost me about £2k to ship her home i would think £1.5k would be top's. (Though im thinking of offering £500 first and see what the reaction is).

Ok,

I have just had a good look at this boat, with the following comments:

The trailer is scrap.
The hull and deck have been painted twice before at least.
The original Gelcoat colours appear to be red at the rear and white at the front.
The hull appears to be solid with no apparent signs of serious repair.
Some small gelcoat repair required to the rear combing.
The floor did not appear to flex under my weight.
The interior upholstery is in good condition.
The stray cat that frightened the shit out of me when it jumped out of the battery compartment when i lifted the rear seat up, will have to go!
It appears to me that this boat has only ever been fitted with a single outboard engine. (Cant explain the three Rev Counters fitted on the dash).
The deck is flexi under my foot, (I imagine due to weight saving) but without the crunchy, brittle fibreglass sound.

So, i am bidding on a 20 year old hull that really needs completely stripping and rebuilding from the ground up!

Thats gotta be worth a £500 punt.

Pictures to follow.

Well i now know of three P25's with the same interior configuration.

Any idea on the numbers of P25's built and the years that they were manufactured?

There are a few lying about, its just very difficult locating the owners.

Aqaba in Jordan surprised me the most. There is a boat yard there with all kinds of Exotica in it. And yet the country is very poor in appearence!

The P25 came out in about 1980, and loads were built in the 80's for racing (some tandem deck) and a good few for pleasure.

They were also made throughout the 90's, though only a couple of those were for racing, as by then the Cat was weapon of choice in 4 litre, then came the all conquering B28 bat boat.

I think the last genuine one left Phantom boats, destined for Germany, in 2001.

I don't know how many were built in total, but would guess at somewhere between 30 and 50.
