Steve Reddish has one with a 300 promax on it - I might be interested in the engine if you don't want it - Reddish marine 01548 844094 I'm fairly sure it's been sprayed though?

Whats wrong with Rings exactly???

I know that Phantoms raced more often than Rings in OCR and old class 3 and 2. Correct me if im wrong but the Honda Cougar is based on a Ring and so are Extremes.

Surely its a matter of personal choice and not that one is not As Goodas the other

There's nothing wrong with them that I'm aware of, but then I am slightly biased.

My boats (extreme's) are indeed built in the original Ring Powercraft Sportscruiser moulds, which I bought from Mike in the mid 90's. The first of the Honda 21 Boats were built by ourselves (laminating by Mark Pascoe at Vulture Ventures) and the current crop of 150hp Honda (Cougar) boats are derived from them as well.

We are also building the 20 sportsboat, with a restyled deck and revised spray rails. Demo boat shall be available early next year, 2007.

It really is a case of each to their own, but are both excellent boats.

I even owned a 25 Phantom once myself! And a 20 Ring was european champ in 2 litre in the early 80's.

Only the deck cookee . never raced all kevlar and no stress crecks ( anywhere) known boat from new. might sell everything except motor, like to put on phantom 21. take £6000.00 for everything but motor.

Hay FAB ever tried a phantom?!!. Every phantom Iv,e had has stayed togeather ( NO WHAT I MEAN ) even very old ones. Iv,e sold rings new and had to have the wood and transom replaced due to de lamination after 12 monthes of only light waterski use. I can name you at least 10 phantoms over 15 years old which have been raced hard and still look good. This is my own personel view of my expierience. If you have a ring and you love it than thats great.
