Phantom 25 on you tube

Does anyone know what happened to the P25 Speedy in the videos on you tube? If you type in Phantom 25 with twin Johnsons there are two vids of it racing looks a very quick boat.
Just interested if anyone knows anything about it.
Sorry don’t know how to do direct link.

P25 2x200 jonshon GT1989

this one?
Back in 1989! 30 years since now..
It's my you tube channel, and I'm trying to save some old videos from VCR.
This black P25 was sold at the end of 1989, then raced again the year after, and in the second round of a Corsica offshore racing the boat crashed severely, with the team members were evacuate to hospital, and they were fine after a few recovery.
the boat crashed, the boat was almost cut in two parts, just in front of the wind deflector....
The engines, 200 GT were a special edition called limited, and the racers at the time, who competed with mercury 2.4efi, and 2.5efi were all agreed these particular engines were more close to 260/280 hp.
I've the other part of the video, and at the boat park before the race, ther is a very impressive of Johnson GT alignment, not so common to see this numbers of racing Johnson engines on the same day.

P25 2x200 jonshon GT1989

I've asked the question to the guys racing in this period, they have told me less than this, something around 90mph+ is more realistic for the P25 2 x200GT, I remember the Piranha carrera 2.4 EFI was checked at 82mph helicopter speedo, and the P25 is faster

At the end of the video, you can see the piranha Carrera 2.4 EFI Bridgeport, running a chopper 28, power head modified in Italy to put more reliability, this one was topped at 82mph 30 years ago; and far on his port side you can see a P21 200 Johnson GT going fast too.

I've tested this boat when new, at this moment the engine was a 2.4 200 merc.
This one was pretty well built, I've owned another one, older than this one on the video, and no so well built. The major problem after years on this type of boat is the transom wood quality and the water comes trough the top rear junction transom deck as the builder (like many others at this time).
the floor is also concerned after year but the quality is not so bad.
The interior, upholstery , seats were not at top quality too.
The carrera rigging was pretty simple, like you can see on OCR type boat.
I've a few video of this carrera when racing south of France, most of the racer have broken the plastic wind screen and replaced it by a fiber wind deflector. Like the boat Carré Blanc here fitted with one 200 GT Jonhson
Some other carrera completely tore out the transom when using 2.4 efi in the rough
9 years ago a friend rebuilt a piranha carrera, removed transom and floor, and added a new fiber layer inside the boat, then new transom, then new honey comb floor, pretty light and stiff, but still a 1987 old boat. (the dark blue in added file).
there is a mould in France for rent or to buy. the hull is based on a carrera but extended to 23,and to solve the screen problem the builder made a nice deck inspired bu the P21 design. one of this boat is for sale at the moment the black one with all CE document.
The white exocet 23 is not for sale as going to receive a 250 xs at the moment. here to show the hull lines.
the black exocet 23 is for sale (view from the top)

P25

With the P28 Aramat 2 x200XS gen1 ,bare hull dual jack plate, 2 engines no gas, the bare hull is 1800kg at weigh bridge, with std bravo propellers the boat topped at 65knots when light in gas. gearcase 1.87
So your P25 70 knots is possible with the good propellers, 72knots light in gas seems reachable.
What is your current top speed and propellers, gear ratio?
your power is close to the P25 called Brunswick motors back in 1994

or castle motors

Hi!

Back in 2006 until 2010 I had twin 2.5 EFI SS engines on my Phantom 25. We managed to get it to 87 mph on a good day, although I think it would be 1-2 mph faster with a pair of Max 5 props or 5 bl CNC cleavers. We ran 3 blade choppers and Hydromotive 4 bl props even with the bottom. CLE lowers.

Cheeers, Toffen
