this rib is a 2002, the engine was changed from a honda 4 stroke 225 to the new 200 vmax, it should be noted that this engine is the 2.6 ltr hpdi model and yes the hours are correct at 4 hrs, there is a overall cover and spare seat cushions, there is no comparsion between this new vmax and a optimax, the vmax is in a league of its own, i have both at present!.

Nicely done!

Or perhaps there's another 15 mph to be found after the first service!!

You don't reckon Manos has a new alias do you?

Got one

I've got a 7.5 Evo with a 225 Opti (23" prop). At 5750rpm (Max. before the annoying buzzer goes off) on a flat sea it does 69mph with 2 onboard............I must be a tad porkier than Mr.Moye :-)

I've had it new since last August (50hours on it) & have yet to find any cracks etc anywhere (2 Consol screws have come loose & thats it). It has been driven hard IMHO most of the time including 2 trips Poole/Cherborg in 4/5's at cruising speed of around 50mph. I give up before the boat does with this constant pounding. So, in answer to build quality, I think its a very tough boat with a good finish.

The only fault is practicality, no anchor stowage, no A-frame to lean against when having a Jimmy & no points to secure to a pontoon as the grab handles are inboard on the tubes leaving ropes scuffing them.

That said, I bought it for what Neil built it for & not as a liesure boat. If you want to go camping out with the family & Kids get a sunseeker if not you won't go far wrong with one of these. (Unless of course you get in it with Neil piloting on a rough day without your butt plug fitted )

Mine also came with foot throttle fitted, trim on a stick on steering wheel (Like a car indicator stick, useful when its rough) & bow tank. I believe this is the standard setup. The whole front of the boat has a removable sunpad large enough to sleep three, yes we kip on it aswell.

Need any more info? Thanks Neil I'm well pleased with it (Not just because your 8ft tall).

Well there ya go!, you should'a got a spamaha, more fuel efficient, smaller capacity, 25 less hp and way faster on a given boat!, I've never understood why all those wankers mess about with Mercury engines for racing when there's such a massively superior alternative.

Seriously though, I'm not a rib fan, but the Evo is a fab piece of work and I take my hat off to Steve and Neil (and John) for bringing it to market, and that console is gorgeous

You spotted the problem !

I left fixing the A' frame until about a month ago and the guy, Martin you used to do the Extreme SS work, was a bit slow getting to the job.

It turned out that all four posts were snapping !

But he then turned it round in two days.

Just need the time to put all the stuff back on and wire the radar/GPS/lights etc etc back up.

Cheers

Mark

"Hayswood technical services" MMmmmm, we never understood the company title as there's nothing technical about welding lol

Martin's a nice fella. (as long as you're not in a rush)

PS, I'm glad I could help a ribba with his tickler

I reckon one more trip in the rough would have seen the whole lot over the side.

I owe you a cup of tea sometime

Thanks
