And without sounding like an idiot, Im guessing it is a painting of an actual boat. I mean was there an actual boat called that and if so someone on here must know the history of said boat?

fred Yates was a well known artist who lived and worked down here in Cornwall for many years. When i lived in Mousehole, he regularly left his large paintings in my kitchen overnite, as he didnt drive and went everywhere by taxi. He was a very large man with great beard and was very well known down here and a regular sight. He went over to France to live for a number of years before returning to britain. He died a few years age to everyones great sadness as he was a very kind and unassuming character. His paintings now regularly fetch £10,000 +. Lovely to see another one.

he was from up north originally i think, he had a slight northern accent, he also did travel quite alot. i was looking to see if the background was St Ives / Penzance, bit i dont recognise any of that style of building. i will ask if anyone down here recalls where he was from.
