regarding restaurants there are a few depending on what you like.

for fish and seafood you can try and get into a place called the guildhall tavern, its a French restaurant that is excellent but you may struggle to get a table. there is a Mediterranean restaurant called Karma that serves some fantastic food, for Chinese you might want to try the City Bay view, for Indian the Taj Mahal II or Tandorri Nights is very good, for an extensive menu there is Bannana Wharf which does a bit of everything at good money, these are all around the Poole Quay area. what area are you staying?

if your over that way the Harbour Heights hotel restaurant is very good.

as for Bars get a cab to Ashley cross and go to the cow, Le Bateaux and the OX these are great and a good mix of people.

Talking I'm from Poole

Hi I'm from Poole and eaten in nearly every restaurant and if you want to be posh and have a lovely meal you should go to hotel de vin on Poole quay.
