PLEASE BE AWARE.

Don't know where all the stories are coming from - but it was not R1. Just seen a picture of the boat and it was a cruising / sports RIB and not a raceboat.

Following on from the start of this thread - I also received a phonecall from a reliable source that it was the R1 boat. They went onto give all sorts of details about the accident.

Hope this has not caused problems to any one concerned with the incident or the boats in question.

Perish the thought.

It is my solemn belief that Mr Kennett would be a good person to give Boatmad to.

Re. the Accident At least the guy was having fun before he ironed himself out.

Definitely not R1 - just a lot of rumours going around that it was.

got to agree with jon about being chucked out of a rib. i read about the accident while sitting on boat in yarmouth. then went straight out in a mates rib for the first time and nearly chucked myself out after hitting a bow wave, boat pitched sideways i only stayed in by grabbing a bar on the helm and mate ended up in the helm position.

I heard it was about 1/2 hour before anyone got to him and in that time he drowned...

this is from the MAIB site

It doesn't say much yet but it as good as confirms there was no intervention by the Kill cord on ejection

There is some good reading in the reports at the MAIB and worth a bookmark, sometimes a little blinkered IMHO anyway here is the link for the main page.

Well I know of two one just outside Lymington if it's the one about a mile or so inland???????
Lower Penninton is on the coast that Marsh stuff on the port side inbound to Lymington.

Edit: it say's" later recovered from Pennington where she had struck the sea wall." bit non discript as to an actual location RBTL

Chin up.
nah they wouldn't!! - its all part the fast boating spirit , ribs or hardboaters, they'd probably start nicking bits of ya boat tho
