Powerboat racing etc...

How does one get involved with a racing team?

I love track racing, but theres something more exhilarating about the water. I sit and watch the P1 on Sky and would love to be a part of a team, not necessarily P1 but any racing really, I'm not a mechanic or a grp magician but I have built track cars with family and friends and don't mind getting dirty.

I make good tea and coffee too

Hi and welcome, some of the members belong to stone watersports club
http://www.stonewatersportsclub.com/ where they compete in ski racing. Might be a bit far for you but members make a whole weekend of it.

What boat have you got?

I have access to a phatcat, a bit like a zapcat but slightly lighter.

I'm more interested in becoming part of someones team to be honest.

If you have the time, why don't you come up to the Dover formula future/ OCR event on the 8th/9th August. There you would be able to meet up with the teams that are racing. We are a friendly bunch, and always looking for new people to get involved.

It's a shame you're not a bit nearer Devon!

Sounds like you would fit into the Double 2 Shirts team perfectly

Seriously though, they might welcome a willing hand...?

That sounds interesting, i wouldnt mind racing my boat.

Guess you must have your juice back on now? My misses comes from Dartford, her family are still living there and in Bexley and they are still without power, only allowed 3 hours a day i understand. Complete the idiots who done that, must be a nightmare?

I don't know if there is a basic race at Dover, but I'm sure the organiser would be more than happy if you wanted to come and do some safety over the weekend.

There maybe a basic race at the ocr event in Margate 5th/6th Sept. It has not been confirmed yet, so watch this space..

Luckily I live in an area that wasn't effected by the power cut. Although Dartford town centre has mobile gene's dotted around all over the place at the moment.

Pouring cocktails....

I just retrained to pouring those particular beverages....

Seriously though, you need a hand with anything during the week or even weekends? I'm self employed so can fit 'team' around my schedule
