you can't compare a Honda outboard with a V-24, i've worked on both in and out the water, i'll always remember running up V-8 jaguar racing in a small tent and just feeling the revs beat around let alone the ears when it revs.
only time the hondas come close is with the gearcase dropped and a hose pipe on the intake.

The hondas with a hose pipe in them do sound quite good

225
My only experience of hondas is seized bolts as they used to use carbon steel bolts which would seize all over the place on their units, have they progressed yet.
Sorry they just dont exite me after working on them for others, i heard the 225 hondas breaking saddles is there any truth in this?
Not having a go just my experiences mate.
Ive gone for Yams and mercs for my 5 boats I have at the moment.
Now a V24 you would have a smile from ear to ear as the seem to go like they sound from what i've seen of them.

your welcome to your opinion, what i've learnt is that the transom bolts on the 225 honda's could be a bit stronger (not sure about the 150's).
