Private Messages
Hi there.
I just wondered if any of you guys have had a private message sent to you from a recent newby talking about Buddah? I don't mind private messages but this was a bit odd.
cheers

I was a bit sceptical if I should have used the person's name. How do I send mine on the the moderators please? I'm a bit new to all this.
Thanks in advance.

ha ha ha, now that'd be a good one!
Maybe they were targeting us thinking we might want some form of god behind us before we head out for the season!
Or not.

Lol, I have been here for about a month as I'm interested in boats, but realised I didn't know half as much about them as you all did and decided to keep quiet through fear of making myself look stupid

Is it the welcoming committee? Or is there a specific type of event that happens for newbies like Carli.
I've not been here that long, so perhaps we can have the initiation ceramony together?

no one could be better at making a tit out of themselves with stupid questions than me!
I have to say though that all the guys on here are really really helpful. the amount i've learnt from being on here for the last few months is just incredible. You'll get the odd sarcastic response, but unlike any other forum i've ever been on, there seems to be no hating of 'newbies'. it's a very open place as i think the people on here (me included) realise that they have to be open to new faces to keep the sport alive!
Knit1 and Carli, what boats do you have/ like?
I started with a roughly set up ring 16 and now have a kevlar 20ft shakespear cat that i'm building an engine for! Couldn't have done it without the help from here, spoken to some really great people on the phone for advice too.

Personally Larby, I'm just an avid fan of speedboats and love watching them. It must be terribly exciting being in one. I missed the opportunity when I was younger to have a ride in one, through ill health, today also that is preventing me, but I get just as much enjoyment from watching as I would by taking part.
