Prop Failure

Back in March I posted a request to help me find some replacement props for my boat. Anyway I ended up buying them from www.marineshoponline.de as the price was right!

Now one of the props is in two bits, as can be seen below, and I'm looking at having them rebushed.

According to the bloke at Prop Revs he hasn't seen that before and hasn't seen that style of hub ( with the metal outer ) since the 90's.

Is he correct as I've already sent marineshoponline an Email asking what there going to do. Can't say I hold out too much hope but march wasn't that long ago.

Cheers

Mark

Mark, I've no idea about the aluminium props but this is a pic of a Volvo C5 prop. The E series is similar. The nylon bush is pressed directly into the prop.

Mark, did you ever get to the bottom of the hub type. I ask because I've just been in touch with a Vovlo parts supplier and they're of the opinion that below the nylon ring is a rubber bush. They were talking about them having to be compressed to fit into the prop so they mustn't have the outer metal sleeve.
