Props

Hi guys a quick question
I was do a quick run the other reached about 68 mph (speedo-reading) but the enigine hit it max rpm and cut off about 6200??
does this mean that I am running a prop that's too "small" or?? I really like the "pull" of the High Five but not very keen on having the engine hit the "cut-off"-point at WOT..
HELP!!!

specs:
Bat P21
Egine 225 opti
Prop High Five 21" pitch

Other Phantom owners what are you running??

21" is a bit small - try a 23" you shouldn't hit the rev limiter with that - Have you got the engine quite high?

Send a message via AIM to Burty
cant really tell from that picture.
put a straight edge on the bottom of the hull out towards the engine and see where the prop shaft is in relation to the straight edge ie. 1 inch below etc.

Will try to post some better pics then..

Have just mounted a Laser II with a pitch of 21 - will try this later this week and see what happens..

But I guess those props I have, are too "small" - might need some 23"'s then??

If anything I would expect the 21 Laser to rev more than the high 5 - but props are funny things!

After testing my Laser II 21" the engine did even more rpms however it was a bit faster at 5k rpms og felt like there were lots and lots of rpms to go
Thus i have decided to sell it - so if anyone is in market for a second hand, like new Laser II 21", let me know..
I ithink i want a Laser II 25" and a High Five 23" .- so i might sell my High Five 21" as well...

What would a High Five 25" do to my boat??
or is the best setup a 23" High Five for pulling skiers and a 25" Laser II for speed..
Don't fancy the Cleaver..

Scream & Fly have a good selection of 2nd hand ones, and there is a lot of info there on boat weights vs power vs props if you read through the threads & aticles also in the buy & sell section.

The Laser 25" might be a bit big - a 23" might be better, and it could be "tweaked" to 24" if its still revving a bit high?
