R.Y.A. training school.

Just looking at their website, the cost of a book of 10 level 1,2,or 3 certificates is only 18.99 if you have your own training premises(working on it)yet the local R.Y.A. trainers are charging 399.00 for a 2 day course and a whizz round the bay doing man overboard, etc, etc, £3999.00 for ten pupils on a 12 man RIB over a weekend, nice work if you can get it and the v.h.f. course as an add on afterwards, going to have me some of THAT and then flog everyone of them a brand spankin new boat on no deposit instant credit for 50 quid a week. You WILL get on the water.

There is no such thing as the Powerboat Level 3, I think you are looking at the dinghy section, the Powerboat Level 2 course does not come in a book of certs anyway, its a bit dearer with a book included. But that aside most people don't think about it as marking up the certificate costs, its more about the 2 day powerboat course that comes free with the certificate.

I don't think that is an unreasonable price for 2 days tuition, fuel, use of boat, classrooms and all of the business overheads etc, however there are very few centers that charge that much, going rate is generally under £300 often somewhat less

Would be, but RYA Powerboat courses are taught with a maximum of three students on board. You would have 8 empty seats.

Funny that those motivated purely by money don't seem to spend long in the affluent world of instructing!! Best of luck to you.
