Race Results - to keep or not to keep

I have just discovered that the RYA, the governing body of circuit racing in the UK, no longer have an archive of race results of major events. That means the full race results of events such as the 18 years of the Bristol Grand Prix, London Victoria Docks, the British Grand Prix at Chasewater and many, many others are lost in the mists of time. Not only have the RYA treated circuit racing heritage with such disregard but also the UIM, the international governing body of the sport, have also disposed of much of its archive of race results when they relocated to Geneva - due to lack of space!!!!

I assume the information I've been given is accurate. I would be grateful if someone would correct me if I have my facts are wrong (I hope I have). If my information is correct then I feel the need to try and correct this terrible state of affairs by trying to put together as many major race results as possible. If anyone can help in this quest I would very much like to hear from you.

Thanks for any help you can give.

No idea but I would love to think that history is kept.

Angry race results

seems to me , that if this true it just shows us how much they regard the history of powerboat racing is to them, as im sure in this day and age, the space needed to store this info is very small, just a few discs or that much space on an memory drive, pisses me off

Drop a PM over to Foolish (Not sure, but I think he maintains http://www.powerboatarchive.co.uk/ for Graham Stevens).
You can see there's a huge archive of results etc already there. I can't remember whether circuit racing was included or not, but worth having a chat with them to see if they can help.

Graham's archives are most excellent.

A couple of years ago, I asked Graham for the names of driver, co driver and navigator for every Cowes winning boat from 1961 to 2010.

This is the result >> LINK

All credit should go to John Hedges (Bluefin) as he is the one that has spent many hours converting and uploading Graham Stevens extensive collection into what is now the "Powerboatarchive" all i do is Host it ...
