It's doing 50+ knots now with twin 230's

A Scorpion Cabin Cruiser with twin Yanmars is doing 60+knots
and it weighs more....

Anyway, best laid plans ... if I get round to it we'll see.

MIkey,

I suspect you have a 'searay' speedo, as those numbers just don't add up.

Please tell me which Scorpion is doing 60+ knts, coz I've never seen one.
Mike Deakon's boat runs about 62/63 mph (53knts), and his is a tad quicker than Chris Stricklands.

Hey Mikey, you don't post very often, but when you do, wow!

I suppose you realise this is the "General Boating Discussion" forum, I would have thought that your last post was better sorted to the "torkin Bollix" section! Nobber.

60 knots and my arse is a banjo!

Thought the Scorpions were doing more than that.

Whatever, the Hunton is still doing 50knots (Garmin GPS) with twin 230s so unless the Yanmar is majorly heavier than the KADs it should go better! We'll see won't we

Obviously getting into the swing of the forum if you think it's
all Bollix

Didn't realise there were any tides that ran that fast on the south coast!

No sense of humor Jon?

Presumably if it was a Phantom it would be ok? A little like the hard boat / RIB conversation really

Don't really know the exact weight of the boat ... 4 tons?
The Thoroughbred 36 brochure says 4 tons and it's a very
similar boat. Brochure said it was capable of 60knots, but presumably with petrol engines (this is an old brochure)

LOA is 34, no idea on the drive ratios

Props are Volvo B8 Duo Props

But if it wasn't, then I guess I haven't
