Racing number?

Is there any way of finding out a boats racing number or if not what would be the most appropriate one to slap on the side in keeping with the age of the boat.

1982 Squadron 39 - Shogun Star of Guernsey.
Blue and originally red.

Any history or info would be much appreciated.

Do you want to race or make the boat look original?
If you're planning to race with the number then you'll have to phone the RYA Powerboat dept. and choose from the available numbers for the class.
Alternatively if you're just wanting to restore the boat to it's original decals then someone on here will probably be able to tell you or help track down the original number.
Either way good luck
Max

Sadly until I lose the clip-on and the 8hp sailmate- There will be no racing.

However just looking to make it look a little nicer on the eye.

Just wondered what sort of numbers boats racing in this class and era would have and whether anyone knows any history on her. As they say at Bonhams Auctioneers - the value is in the provenance!

I recently joined the COPOC but sadly their historian was unable to unearth anything in their archives!

I do have a hull number if that is of any use! Also found a few francs stuck in the original seats and some mouldy receipt from a company in Antibes where she was being touted for 1/2 a million USD in 1986.
