That would do the trick - give myself a foreign name and say I'm a long lost cousin from some other country!

Or run under an Alias. The BAPB does issue licences under aliases if requested...

Oi, this aint a 'final draft' ya lanky git! just some suggestions of what might work.

My calculation gave 9369cc, but we won't split hairs, because these are just suggestions, maybe CTC-2 could have a 20 litre, no forced induction limit (maybe allow the UIM 1.4:1 rules for forced induction, meaning the limit would be 14.28 litres for blown motors). but steering people away from ultra high perf engines would be I think, a good thing, this is endurance racing, not sprint racing.

I aint goin bald lanky, I choose to wear a pink shower cap all the time.

Got as far as the start 2 or 3 years ago before it was cancelled due to weather, so it would be great to have another crack at it!

Angry Bickering has started already

When I suggested a Cowes-Torquay revival, it seemed a good ideal at the time but already heated debates are rumbling i.e engine sizes, canopies or not etc. If it happened, let it take the Basic rule format which would ensure all entries are seaworthy and fast enough to get to Torquay and back within say eight hours. If someone wants to enter a 72 foot vintage MTB or a 16 foot RIB why not, there will not be a £500,000 prize at stake. Probably four seperate classes depending on length might be helpful as we wouldn't want to see the MTB run over the RIB on the start line but stop the bickering over rules, that's boring.

As professional racers with 40 years experience i could not agree more....
Who wants to be on a podium any how. You have to make a speech.

Instead of starting in Cowes, why can't the race start in Torquay, re-fuel in Cowes and finish back in Torquay. There would be plenty of space for a start shoot, that won't upset the QHM. Torquay has plenty of hotel rooms for the teams, plus a big enough harbour area for all the raceboats. Perhaps who ever resurrects this famous race should try it for a year to see whether it works.
