At 8.8:1 I think you could say his motor already is low comp and should have no problems with low boost level,s esp with the cooler if the motor is in good order, if not the then you can spec as required n/a or forced ,
p.s can you get 99ron fuel there

Wow, this got everyone's attention today!
Thanks for all the compliments, she really does look more modern, the graphics have been changed although along the same lines and I feel really suit the boat. I don't want to make her look too modern though.
As for the motor, there's an awful lot of varied opinion out there on the CR, seem's I'm right on the limit. I was also given another option today involving a smallblock which has really put the cat amongst the pigeons!
I'm gonna take some time to have a think about it, chat to some people who I've spoken to so far and see what's gonna be best. Sadly the most limiting factor is budget, that's already waaaay higher than it should be and I've got more to think of than just the boat.
Whatever happens I know she's gonna be stunning, and I can always change motor setup at any point in the future!
Cheers, James

Oooooh, that's coming along nicely! Saw a velocity stack or two poking out at AD's the other day and figured something was happening!
Got a hull planned for it yet??

Home again!
Well, she's finally sprayed and back home in the new shed! Now I just need to stop attending seminars and organising races for a weekend and I can crack on with getting everything done!
Next up is to start flow coating the inside, finish off a few interior hatches etc, then make up the engine hatch complete with blower scoop. I'd really like to test fit the engine first though so I can get an idea for scoop height.
Here's some pretty pictures, sure you'll all agree the finish is awesome!
Cheers, James

It's actually JCB yellow! There's so many shades I couldn't decide but I've always liked that one! Just so happens to be in the JCB yard too!!
Very glad I kept at it, I can't wait to get it finished, it's been years since I've been boating!!
Thanks again everyone for the kind comments, it's great to get feedback, makes the thread worthwhile!!

Looking very good James
Yellow Ral 1007 which you went for is nice, plenty orange in it
Pash went for Ral 1023 for the Planatec, like you he said at the time that there's so many yellows

Yep, I much prefer the darker orange shades of yellow, never been a fan of lighter ones, though I understand why pash wanted to keep D2S original!
I'm just glad the red stripe is gone!!

I was just about to say 'not a chance' when I realised my target is to have it ready for my birthday on 5th June!! Never know your luck, it may be done in time! If that fails, I'll just drive you up to see it!!
Shame you all won't be over for longer, there's a few boats I'd love a blast in!!

A bit behind schedule but...
Well my aim was to have the boat finished for my birthday tomorrow and that definately hasn't happened!!
I have made some great progress though, got all of the interior flow coated today which spells an end for the glass work and the start of the rigging!
While I was there I added another complex onto the engine beds just to be on the safe side, though the engine mounts will also brace to the transom and bulkhead. Also made the centre floor for above the fuel tank.
It's great to see it looking like a boat again, the grey looks great and really goes well with the yellow!
