Hmmm. This attitude does not seem to tally with your post in the 'Gallery':

"from my point of view i have lots of reasons for crossing over.... the bumper thing is a definate plus, i candrive my boat, i do make the odd mistake though and i am rya trained, but its all the others that cant, the right hand side of my boat is scarred with the effects of all the other twats coming alongside.. also id feel safer leaving my boat in a mates helm when i accidently get to pissed to drive if its got a dirty great bumper around the outside..

im ashamed to say it but theyre fashionable and i like the look of em too although i do have to agree with me missus in that they dont look as good as a hard boat!

i think they tend to be lighter due to less superstructure which in my opinion can make em more fun to drive and flick around and easier to trailer"

Edit: Incidentally, I am a fully paid up member of RIBnet because I happen to want to support JK. I have learnt a lot from the forum and met many great people too. £30 to advertise something is not a lot to pay, either.

And no, I won't advertise anything for you - get your wallet out, as Matt says!!!

The £30 will enable you to advertise (and get a warm feeling inside, knowing you're helping JK to keep RIBnet running) - the reading is free!

If you object to paying, then use one of the other advertising places you have mentioned above. After all, surely a load of 'dingy' (your spelling) owners are hardly worth bothering with?

i think your taking this a bit personal. I always thought the hard boat rubber boat banter was common practice on boatmad and ribnet...

I like ribnet (and the people)and its success is probably largely due to the support of all members but especially paying members.. i didnt even know there were paying members until a few days ago... You pay and thats great, i havent and i doubt i will my choice (is it not??)... i suppose im materialistic and to pay £30 to sell one item would mean i would be at a loss..

I have to confess to being fooled about five years ago and paying a large sum of money to join a forum, not only was it a con but the forum shut down and i lost out... As such i am very shy of payin for most things on the net especially forums...

This free world stuff is tough init
