Richard Griffiths passes away.

I have just heard the sad news from Dorian that his Father Richard Griffiths passed away on Boxing Day.

Richard was an enthusiastic supporter of Offshore Powerboat Racing for many years. He took part in the 1969 Round Britain Race, The London to Monte-Carlo Race in 1972, the 1984 and 2008 Round Britain Races plus several Cowes Torquay Cowes Races and many other Endurance races.

Richard was a true Gentleman and will be sorely missed by all his friends, my commiserations to his wife Sue, to Dorian and to all his family.

That's a real shame he was a great and fun guy, he will be missed, my commiserations to Sue and the family.

a sad loss to the history of powerboat racing and of course his family spent many hours with him during rb08 what a great great guy so many stories sadley missed,my thoughts with sue dorrian and family at this sad time

Thank you for all your kind thoughts both on Boatmad and also the many cards and letters the family have received.

My father was a lovely man and said it how it was...

We all will miss him terribly and it won't be the same ever again at Cowes.
