Ring 24, not fast enough
I recently got a ring 24 with twin 2.5 offshore 200 mercurys.
Bought the boat as a project, had been sat up for 4 years and didnt run boat was a mess, got it running with fresh fuel and some tlc and finished in 3 weeks, borrowed some props 27" mirarges off friends boat just so i could make sure it worked
The boat did 63mph, I was quite happy for first go in it then bought 23" lazer lh+rh now it goes 75 mph
I want it to go faster though. it pulls about 5700 rpm, I heard you can run the 200s up to 6400.
Any ideas of good props for these engines??

That's pretty impressive, how are you measuring the speed?

Measuring it on a handheld gps, I had a grin on my face at that speed, but the revs are low i think. I feel there could be more

And I think it might have belonged to John Evans in the early-mid 90s.

Right again Ben !!!
I built it for John Evans and he sold it to Max Walker. It was built either in 1989 or 1990 at Riverside, L.A.
I have a superb photo of that boat from the Cancer Research race, 1990 in which he won his class ( so not so slow after all !) that John gave me and is now hanging in the hall.
Mike

I had a cruise aboard that boat out of Littlehampton in 94 I believe. John Evans was trying out Mike's 22 Sportcat and Tony Hamilton was driving the 24. Come to think of it, that was the day I first met Tony.

At last some history, Thanks guys.
The guy I bought it off, had it sat up for like 4-5 years and apparently before that it didn't to that much either.
It was a mess when i bought it. but the hard grafting paid off. luckily I know what am doing otherwise am sure 90 hrs work would have cost a fortune in a Marine work shop. That's why the last guy didn't do anything with it.
Cheers for the posts though.
Any one got any pics of how the cabin should look completed. I could do with a pic or 2 then I can make the cabin look beautiful! as my cabin looks rubbish at the moment 60s material that would look like your nans best carpet! and a bad ceiling on it. sagging Material just glued to the roof.
finaly got some info on the props and revs. too. sorry about the double post, Wasnt getting any info before.

(We stopped putting pictures on the walls with sellotape in the 50s ! It seems old habits die hard on the Hants /Dorset borders )
