This one ive seen is 34 feet long 12 feet wide and seems cheap

I liked my Rinker

I don't know much about the 300 V but I owned a Rinker 236 with a 365 Mercruiser for a couple of years and was VERY impressed. I even visited the factory in the USA to see it being built. All looked first class.

It was good for 70mph (which was the part I particularly liked) was rock solid, rode well even in a chop, was well built, and stood the test of time well. Nothing bad to say about it. Starting to miss it !

I know the joke with some Amerian boats is that they are only good for lakes. The 236, however, had a decent V and I was always suprised at how well it handled. I even took it on a 150 mile round trip across the English Channel (Poole to St Vaast near Cherbourg) and it was great - and maybe a little foolhardy. Any kids reading this "Don't do it" !!!

I believe the 300, which I have seen and boarded, is a large boat along the sames lines as Carvers. It has lots of accomodation, but like most American cruisers it relies on curtains to separate areas, which is nice if you want to see a large open area. Being tall it will be more prone to side winds and will be more difficult to get in and out of berths - be warned or get lots of fenders.

Because of its size, and beam, it probably isn't going to be the quickest or most comfortable 30+ footer out there, but you have to decide what you want it for. If you want a family Cabin Cruiser, then I'm sure it could fit the bill.

Cheers for the info matey. Im abit worried about bringing a boat that size int a finger berth but hey spose you have to learn. I wanted the boat really for women a party boat so to speak and for the odd trip over to france

US Dollar exchange rate is good at present. You may find a good choice of Rinkers and similar by trawling American brokers on the internet. Cost of bringing boat over isn't that bad - neither is cost to inspect one.

Note that most American manufacturers haven't heard of Diesel as the price of Gas (Petrol) is so cheap over there. I don't know how easy it would be to find a Diesel vessel if you are looking for economy and reliability. A pair of diesels may be best bet if you intend to do trips to France regularly.
