Well simms are not being made anymore. We are buying them off ebay and rigging them myself. Very simple, great fun little boat. I can send you some pictures if you like of mine as that is ready to race pretty much.

They are only 14 foot long. Very agile little boats. It handles great, the acceleration with a 90 on is amazing as they are so light. 2 people can pick the boat up no problem.
I bought it simply because it was cheap. I had an engine i'd just rebuilt (90 Yam) that needed running in. Needless to say that has stayed on the boat now. I found another for my brother. A couple of other people at our club are keen to race them too. Keep costs down and if several boats of similar speed are racing it makes it more exciting.

Pictures of me racing the Simms super V now on. Wasn't quite as quick as hoped but only had a beaten up old ski prop on. Very lively as you can tell. Spent most the time bouncing around.

just had a look some really good pics there, surely you can pick up cheap p16 hulls to use the yams on? or are they not as common as the simms or am i missing the point?

Heard a whisper that you didn't make minimum speed at Barrow. Do you still get to run the Sims if it's to slow ?

You should know by now not to listen to whispers.
Scooby, there are plenty 16 footers around but for having a lot of fun i think the Simms is the way forwards. I'll give it a whirl next time with a race prop on instead of the battered ally one i had on. Saturday was a bit of a test run. Won the race day though so pretty goood test.
