Rya's Orc Disbanded
Rumour has it, the RYA's Offshore Racing Committee (ORC), has been disbanded and replaced by Clubs and Classes representitives. If the rumour is true, this new group will be much better placed to look after their own interests as opposed to a small band of people, often with more power than they knew what to do with.

I guess the new commitee will vote a new chairman in, that could be GM, but it could be someone new altogether.

As Chairman of ORDA I assume you will still sit on the ORC (Clubs & Classes)
The proposal was not aimed at losing any committee members it was only intended as a revamp to put committee structure back as it was when it worked !!
This way we are able to make decisions on our proposals. I truly hope that any ORC Members not already on other committees continue to work with the best interests of powerboating at heart.

The way I understand it !! (But it was only my proposal) Not necasarily what the others thought they were voting for !!
These will all be members of ORC !! The way I see it is that the Chairpersons (or their delegates) from the various active clubs will form ORC.
Those members will elect a Chairperson and delegate members as Safety, Technical, Admin & Approvals etc. !!
Bob

Candidates For Chairman
It seems that before the ink has dried on the paper, the topic of Chairmanship is rearing its head. How about a choice of Lord Beaverbrook, Tony Fiddy or Mickey Mouse.

I think the smart money would be on Beaverbrook, as both Tony Fiddy and Mickey Mouse are cartoon characters!
