It seems poor old Stu commited suicide.

Stuart raced National Production Class in the late 80s/early 90s. He sold his Hunton Gazelle RS28 ' Raven Estates / Atlas Computers' to Paul Gilley, who went on to race it with his Brother Nick (XS-IF on here) He then ran a Hunton Maverick 34. recently he's raced with Alan Goodwin (HIM) and Ben Mazur in 'Mr Noisy'

I'm sure he did stuff before that, but it was before my time.

My apologies for not responding earlier but I had been away for a week in a 'technology free zone' (my mother's house.)

The news of Stuart's death came as a shock. He had problems but don't we all. It must take a lot to decide to end one's life, especially to do it in such a way that finality is not in question.

Here are a few pics taken at the conclusion of the 2005 Cowes Round the Island Race. We were disqualified, but it didn't matter. The boat made it around the island, the sun shone and all was right with the world.

Godspeed Stuart.
