sad loss of another old racer

david blackford sadly passed away this week, having battled with cancer, greatest uncle a boy could have, just growing up with powerboats such as black dave 23ft huntress, then on to conserve or perish which he did london to monte carlo in, the first time round. HTS 1, HTS 2 , ford persuader and so many other boats, anybody that knew him will tell you he was a great if not a little crazy, perfect recipe to race offshore powerboats. RIP DAVID ALEXANDER BLACKFORD

Steve, I am very, very sorry to hear that David has lost his battle with cancer, he well be sorely missed, my condolences to you and all his family.
Your right he was a bit crazy, but a really lovely man, I worked for him and raced with him for a year all over Europe, it was great fun and I have really good memories of that year !!!!!.......

My Dad's passing

He rang me only a few weeks before he died. It went so quickly
the time did. He was in so much pain. I adored him, he showed
me so many places and things as a child. I phoned him often and wrote.
Thanks for this Steve. All the best. Lesley x
