[QUOTE=Mikey;104890]I have been contacted by Channel 4 who are interested in running a TV show where the contestants have to build and drive a performance boat
Mikey, who have you been speaking to, Ronan Brown or John Mallon, they were my old contacts. As stated I would do it again, it is good fun but hard work. Site is just North of Basingstoke near to Bramley on an old army base. There was a great guy called Hadrian Spooner, who was head of engineeing there, can make absolutely anything ! Looking back it was April 2005 when "my" episode was filmed. I recall that there were over 60 people involved for the filming at the lake.

well I guess you win some and you loose some, BUT a great racer only needs to win by the smallest margin possible so as to preserve the machinery- and that's just what we did !!
Good luck to you if you do it, as mentioned its a great way to waste a few days !

Yeah, was only joshing with you.

It was confirmed yesterday, I'm doing it.

The problem now is, ..as it says on their flyer, "failure is not an option". I fear I could be in for some serious shit if I mess up. (from this community!!)

Had Jenny from scrapheap around this afternoon, and waiting for the final vote on tuesday, so it looks like Mr Rocket has his wish and it may well be Ribnet spanking (sorry versus) Boatmad.

I can't find any footage of Simon's attempt.
But I did manage to find Adams episode.

http://media.boatmad.com/gallery/d/4.../scrapheap.avi

It's an avi, so recommend right click and "save as".
You will also need the right codecs installed to play it - sorry, can't find a tool to convert to wmv. You can mess around with individual codecs, but I suggest just installing http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ckage_id=59355 and http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ckage_id=63808 if necessary.
