Thanks to Ashley for the mini tour on Saturday evening - here's a boat that's been restored that someone on here might know something about::

Prawn Cocktail/snoopy

Cookie

This was built for Sir Robert Hobart / John Hobart using a Souter cold molded hull off the mould for Tommy Sopwith's TELSTAR and Mike Campbell's MELODRAMA.both Shead designs..the hull was then fitted out and prepaired by the famous Woodnutts yard at Bembridge.
She was powered by a 400 hp Home built Interceptor and raced in the1969 CTC...
Sir Robert will be known for his boats the RW CLARK BUILT SMOKED SALMON
the ex Bruce Campbell CHRISTINA which he renamed LOBSTER THERMIDOR and fitted with 4 Jaguars (you see the link here!) and PRAWN COCKTAIL later renamed SNOOPY..
She is owned by a gentleman in Liverpool and was totally restored by Will Sqibb who occupies the old Woodnutt site....If you check out Grahams POWERBOAT ARCHIVE for 1969/1970 you will find pics and listing for race entry and finishing/retirement.

Best Regards

Mike
