Also, I've recently been told that football (soccer) was invented by English ladies to keep them busy while their husbands did the cooking. Can anyone confirm this?
Rants are good but it must be realised that we in the U.S. have developed our own unique culture as evidenced by our magazines, and our advances in gastronomy are envied worldwide.

Fortunately, i have met many really, really nice Americans over the years. I suppose it depends on their genetic heritage being that there is no such genetic race as Americans. I believe that they were killed many years ago.
Its the same in South Africa, unfortunate people with no place to actually call home! Except the land they stole!

I would never have been born a German if the Americans had not joined the war, because every last Englishman, woman and child would have given up there lives to prevent any invasion of our land by "Johnny Foreigner".
My Grandfather fought in the First World War and was wounded in three theatres of war, Paschendale, Cambrai & Ypres before being discharged due to his injuries. My late Father served throughout the Second World war in the Russian Convoys and was the sole survivor of his Corvette when it was torpedoed in Murmansk in Feb 1945. Both of my Parents families lost their homes during the German bombing raids on Southampton in 1940.
Dont misunderstand me, im not anti-german or anti-american, they are both great nations. I just dont like bigheads, whatever there race, colour or creed.
And potatoes were around in Europe long before Walter Raleigh brought them back from the Americas.
